I downloaded zoom so I can have meetings business meetings and otherwise, but the zoom icon isn’t showing up on my iPad. How do I get that to happen? I did shut my laptop down and turn it back on after I downloaded the zoom app and so I just wanna know how do I get the icon?

Does Zoom show as installed in the App Store? Does it have an "Open" button? Or a "Get" button or a Cloud icon?
If it has an "Open" option, look for it in the App Library. You probably have the option to save Downloads directly into the App Library. instead of the Home Screen. Once you find it in the App Library, you can drag it onto any Home screen you want to have it on.

Also, check Settings ➜ Home Screen & App Library and make sure "Newly Downloaded Apps" is set to "Add to Home Screen"
