Can I change my Apple ID

I have two apple ID's and the email address for the old one is soon being cancelled. I still use the apps etc downloaded with the old ID - can I transfer them all to my other one?

You should not be setting up the new account only because you have a new email address. You should instead change the address on the old account and not set up a second account. You cannot transfer purchases from one account to another. You can share them with Family Sharing. If you have already set up the second account and not really used this new account for anything, abandon it. You will not, however, be able to use that new address with the old account since you have already used it for the new account. Apple will only let you use an email address once. You will need a new address to for the original account. That is the best solution, otherwise you will have to keep your two accounts active and use Family Sharing.

Here's how you change the email address (Apple ID) you use for your Apple Account while retaining everything in your account:

If you have an iPhone or iPad:

1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.

2. Tap Sign In & Security.

3. Next to Email & Phone Numbers, tap Edit.

4. Tap the Remove button next to the email address, then tap Delete.

5. Tap Choose Another Email Address and enter your device passcode if asked.

6. Enter the new email address, then tap Continue.

7. Enter the verification code that was sent to your new email address. Read this support article to learn what to do if you didn’t get the email —> If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

Hello ikeepbooks4u

Yes, it is possible to change the email address associated with your Apple ID, but it's important to note that you cannot merge two Apple IDs into one. However, you can update the email address for your current Apple ID to ensure you retain access to your apps, purchases, and other content.

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap on your name at the top of the screen.
  • Tap "Name, Phone Numbers, Email."
  • Under the "Reachable At" section, tap "Edit."
  • Update your email address and tap "Next."
