Changing my Apple ID while keeping my purchased Apps and subscriptions

Hi Everybody,

I am using an Apple ID for quite sometime now. Even before the @me.com and @icloud.com addresses. This "old" apple id is, in fact, my work email address and it was the only one I had whem I began to buy apps for the Apple world.

In some monthes I will retire and I will loose this email address.

Now,I do have another apple id that I use to take care of the icloud+ "world". However, I keep using the old one for the apps and such. Same way as before

So my question:

Is there a way to change that older and initial apple id to a new one without loosing the access to my purchased apps and different subscritipons?

Cheers

Jorge

The support article Change your Apple ID - Apple Support outlines various methods for changing the email address (Apple ID) you use for your Apple Account while retaining everything in your account.

If you have an iPhone or iPad:

1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.

2. Tap Sign In & Security.

3. Next to Email & Phone Numbers, tap Edit.

4. Tap the Remove button next to the email address, then tap Delete.

5. Tap Choose Another Email Address and enter your device passcode if asked.

6. Enter the new email address, then tap Continue.

7. Enter the verification code that was sent to your new email address. Read this support article to learn what to do if you didn’t get the email —> If you didn't receive your verification or reset email - Apple Support

8. If you encounter issues with certain services after doing this, this outdated support article may still have useful suggestions --> What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support

Refer to the support article Change your Apple ID - Apple Support :

- If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad the support article says to, “go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in. Then follow the onscreen instructions to change the email address associated with your Apple ID.”

- For general information, and other issues such as changes or addresses not being accepted.

- Note a recent change to the article where you can now change the email address without having to have access to your old email account.

Thank you for your answers. However, I don't know if I did explain myself well enough.

In my iPhone when I go to Settings, tap my name and tap Sign In & Security I am not dealing with the apple id that is my old email address and I will loose in some months. In fact, here I have no problem. The apple id here is the one @me.com which will be available "forever".

My old email address/apple id is the one that appears in Subscriptions and in Media & Purchases. This apple id is the one that I will loose.

So the steps:

3. Next to Email & Phone Numbers, tap Edit.

4. Tap the Remove button next to the email address, then tap Delete.

5. Tap Choose Another Email Address and enter your device passcode if asked.

6. Enter the new email address, then tap Continue.

will not apply to Subscriptions and Media & Purchases.

However, if I click in Media & Purchases I can Sign Out this old apple id/email address.

If I set it up again I can choose one new email address I've previously add to the old one in anither screen

"Email & Phone Numbers

2 email addresses

These email addresses and phone numbers can be used to sign in. They can also be used to reach you with iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center and more.

2 email addresses"

Curiously, when I sign in in Media & Purchases with this new email address the password has to be the same I use when I sign in with the old email .

iPhone will sign in but the email address I'll see in Subscriptions and Media & Purchase is always the old email address/apple id. Not this new one I've created today and used to sign in..

Am I doing this correctly? Does this will work?

Cheers

Jorge
