Lost Voice Message-Text: Microphone Works/Siri, Voice Memos Work

When sending a text I use to be able to hold the microphone button down and record a voice message. That’s all gone, I have microphone icon in the message box. But can’t hold it, and does voice to text when I push, that’s it. I’ve a lot of the online fixes w/out success. Additionally there use to be a bar with options, like photos, emojis, and other random options. That’s gone too. Am I missing something?
