My iPad is not letting me shut it down and is not responsive to keys or touch. Help. What does one do. I’ve closed it and opened. Plugged in. Unplugged. Nothing is responding and screen won’t turn black when I try and shut it down to power off. I need to restart so I can get it working but can’t even do that

A solution when the iPad is not responsive is to force a restart: Force restart iPad - Apple Support.
Also, if you have not done so already, install the iPadOS 17.4 update.
10 min later it now is responding. Can anyone tell me why the iPad has had this issue a few times and if there is a way to remedy. It does this at times where it doesn’t respond and I have to shut down Usually I am able to shut down. This time it was 10 min before it allowed me
