I sent my granddaughter $100.00 Apple Cash on
February 29th and i got an alert today that expired because a she hasn’t used it yet. My money has not been credited back to my checking account yet

Funds only expire if they are not added to Apple Cash. So, it would appear that your granddaughter hasn't accepted the Apple Cash and added it to her Apple Cash card. The funds will return to your checking account in a couple of days.
