Apple Watch keeps auto launching every music/app with sound in “playing now”

After two updates ago my Apple Watch Series 8 have been playing everything I listen to on my phone- music, streaming like YouTube or Viki, everything. My settings for wake screen on auto launch are turned off, I unpaired and paired it again, I’ve deleted and scrambled the memory and set I’m the watch up from scrap again and still - nothing! Anyone able to help, please!thank you!

As the questioner says, turning off Auto-Launch does not work. I have it turned off on Phone and Watch, reboot both, still auto-launches. There must be a way to turn off this annoying feature!!!

Well the OP said "My settings for wake screen on auto launch are turned off" whatever that means and their title has opposite meaning than in the text. They appear to be saying it launches unexpectedly where you say it turns off unexpectedly?

If you think this is a persistent bug on OS10.4 then go to https://apple.com/feedback

and make a report. As 10.4 is probably not yet in the dropdown selector make sure you put the version in the report text.

Start basic diagnostics by force restarting the Watch and paired iPhone at the same time:-

Force restart the Watch

i.e. press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.

Then while Watch is restarting, force Restart the paired iphone   Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)

Test it for a suitable period depending on the nature of the problem.

If it is still misbehaving...

Unpair and set up again, without restoring the backup. You will lose little except Faces and some settings. takes about 20 minutes.

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch – Apple Support (UK)

Set up your Apple Watch – Apple Support (UK)

Then turn off auto launch
