Macbook pro - ~, 1, caps lock, a, q keys are not working

suddenly the ~, 1, caps lock, a, q keys are not working in my macbook pro m1. My Mac password includes 1 and i tried to restart to see if it will work, now I can’t even access the mac. How can i fix this issue.

You can use an external keyboard plugged in as a work around.


I suspect a hardware issue with the keyboard. Individual keys, keys associated in a straight row, or associated on the diagonal— as your Caps lock & Q would indicate... and 1 is right there.



Keyboards are replaced not repaired. This would be a top case replacement—typically trackpad, keyboard, battery is part of that top case package.



In or out of warranty you can get a free over the counter 'Apple Service Diagnostics' test /assessment

Make an appointment for a "hardware issue"
