Hi Cornfused38 this can because of these problems:

  1. Syncing with iCloud: If you have iCloud Photo Library enabled, your photos may be syncing with iCloud. Sometimes, there can be synchronization issues that result in photos not properly appearing on your device. Check your iCloud settings to ensure that everything is set up correctly.
  2. Storage Space: Even though you're paying for extra storage, it's possible that your iPhone's storage is still full. iPhones can have limitations on how many photos and videos they can store locally, regardless of iCloud storage. Check your iPhone's storage settings to see if this is the case.
  3. Software Glitches: Occasionally, software glitches or bugs in iOS can cause photos to disappear. Try restarting your iPhone or updating to the latest version of iOS to see if that resolves the issue.
  4. Third-Party Apps: If you're using third-party photo management apps or editing apps, they may have settings that automatically delete photos after they've been edited or exported. Check the settings of any apps you're using to see if this is happening.
  5. User Error: It's possible that the photos were accidentally deleted or moved to a different album. Double-check your Photos app to make sure they're not in a different location.
