Payment failed when using Apple Pay on a website with multiple credit cards

I used to be able to use Apple Pay and my different credit cards to make quick purchases.


I'm trying to make a simple purchase at Colehaan and two credit cards which I could use before are just saying payment failed.


terrible experience because I don’t know who is sending the error, apple or the credit card?


I tried removing one card capital one and when I tried entering it back in, the message said like other banks this card is not available to use Apple Pay. Obviously this is a problem between Apple and the credit card companies and the list is long.


terrible service. What’s the answer just use Apple credit card?

What seems obvious to someone unfamiliar with how Apple Pay works and how the banks and payment networks (Visa, Mastercard etc.) control adding cards to Apple Wallet, is in fact a false assumption.


Im happy to run through the iPhone/Apple Pay trouble shooting steps, but please don’t be surprised when the solution is contact your banks support team.


Are you using merchants app or website?


Do you use a VPN?


Is your iPhone updated to 17.4?


Have you force restarted your iPhone?


Have you reset network settings on your iPhone?


Would you like any support articles with instructions for performing any of the above operations?
