Carplay looks like it would be useful for my head unit. My head unit is based on the os of Android. My question is will I be charged a separate fee by ny wireless cell phone carrier for the connection? I under that my plan provide unlimited Data, Text, and Voice, but will there is a separate charge for connecting to my auto head unit. At home I connect to a TV from my phone without a separate charge, is it the same with CarPlay?

Thanks Lawrence! If I understand your response correctly, the private hotspot feature on my iPhone would not be active and therefore the wireless carrier would not charge me a separate fee.
Currently, my carrier wants to charge me $20 per month (and limits my data usage) to use the private hotspot feature on my iPhone. (Another example of add-on charges.)
IF I'm correct in understanding your response, using CarPlay(through BT) is similar to using my TV as a "monitor" but with additional capabilities. Kinda like adding a keyboard or an external UI to my iPhone through CarPlay.

Yes, that’s correct; if your carrier doesn’t charge extra for using the built in Maps app or Google Maps they shouldn’t charge for Car Play, which is essentially a screen share of the phone.
