Unable to fix blurred videos on LinkedIn

Finally fixed re 30 July Safari updated to version 17.6 (17618.3.11.11.6, 17618)

Videos working fine in Safari running on Monterey 12.7.6 (21H1320)

Took a bit of time but thank you to the Apple team who sorted this.

Okay, this is a Monterey thing. Confirmed. Just logged in to Linkedin on my Dad's Mac and there the videos play normally.

iMac: Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2019

His macOS version: Sonoma 14.4.1

His Safari version: 17.4.1

We're going to have to upgrade (if you can).

I have two Macs, one older and running Big Sur 11.7.10. I have blurred videos on LinkedIn on Safari (16.6.1)

The other one is running on Sonoma 14.4.1. LinkedIn videos run fine on Safari (17.4.1)

The problem is the aging OS & Safari. I don't think it is fixable unless you get a newer Mac or switch to another browser like Chrome on the older Mac.

Same issue with me. Seems to be if you are still using Mac OS Monterey 12.7.4 with Safari 7.4.1 then Linkedin videos do not show a picture, only sound

I spent 2 weeks trying to work with Linkedin support, got past first desk and sent screen recordings of the issue. The last reply is shown below - basically 'we don't know'. I've moved over to Duck Duck Go which works fine - no point wasting any more time trying to make this work

I just went to the App Store and searched LinkedIn and there was an update pending. New version 9.1.385 seems to have fixed the blurred spinning wheel problem.

It work with Firefox too, but not with my Safari 17.4 not 17.4.1 on my macOS Monterey 12.7.4.

It work well with my Safari's iPhone and iPad.

So I use Firefox 124.0.2 for LinkedIn (not only).

Not just a Monetary problem. on Big Sur, too. Appears to be LinkedIn on Safari on MacOS. LinkedIn appears to work on iOs, and on other browsers on MacOS.

It looks like the issue is only while in the feed, I copied the link to the video and pated it in another tab and it played just fine.

I did start a support case with LinkedIn and shared my info and findings with he support person, will see what they come up with.

Edit: iMac late 2015 with Monterey 12.7.5 and Safari 17.5

Update Mac OS to version 12.7.6 and Safari 17.6

(My machine: MBP, 13", early 2015)

I had created the post on safari and it was also blurred, then I was going to repost in chrome but noticed the video was fine; maybe check out your post on chrome first before trying anything else!

Same problem with Monterey 12.7.4 and Safari 7.4.1. This must be an apple issue. videos work on chrome fine. Thanks for your post!

With the update today 30th of July 2024 on my iMac late 2015 27" it works. Version 17.6 of Safari and Mac OS version 12.7.6.

Same problem across several iMacs running Safari. Videos play on Chrome, however.
