Trade In

Hello I would like to trade in my M1 Macbook air but i have a few questionst that I cant seem to figure out. First off im purchasing online so when i go in store to pick it up when i bring my m1 macbook air can we trade it their and i get the refund of the $510 in store because i had to pay online. second i heard many rumorus and people saying that apples trade in program isnt worth it for the transporting because it takes 2-3 weeks and it gets damaged on the way with proof. Also does cosmetic damage effect trade in value. THANKS!!!

If you trade in your Mac via the online Apple store, then you will eventually receive a trade-in kit to ship it to Apple. When received and in good condition, Apple will issue you a credit card refund for the trade-in value. If there is an online provision to ship the ordered Mac to the local Apple Store, then you can do that.

If instead, you walk into an Apple Store with your M1 MacBook Air, you can do the trade-in at that time, providing you have a valid ID, an original proof of purchase for the Air, and you can agree to the Store trade-in value. However, it will result in the store issuing you an Apple Store credit, not a credit card refund, or cash refund for that trade-in value of the Air.

Cosmetic damage and its affect on the trade-in value will be determined either when you ship it back to Apple with the trade-in kit, or by Apple Store staff. Apple will ultimately decide if the refund or credit is equal to or less than any online trade-in value you may be quoted for the Air.
