How to manage Mac Studio's oversized library folder

My "Library Folder" on my Mac Studio has 261 GB in it. That is way too large. In fact, out of 494 GB total on my Mac Studio, it shows I have only 163 GB available for use. (Not sure, but they may be "videos" that I saved a long time ago). Can I safely remove these and how do you do that? Thank you.

When you have "163GB Available for use", that is very misleading by Apple since "Available" does not mean what you think it does. You may actually have much less Free storage that can be used immediately.

[in my opinion} there are no 'cleaner' Apps that are safe to use on a Mac.

None of the recommended little Utilities in the article I cited are cleaners, they merely identify largest files. What you do with that information is left to your discretion.

The difference is acting without your knowing EXACTLY what actions will be taken.

read this article and consider downloading any of the several Utilities mentioned to find the biggest files. Run time takes at least a quarter hour to get good results. maximum prmission are needed to be able to see into dark corners and look for everything.

Hello Fritzer: I used MacCleaner Pro 2 and it worked. In fact, the 261 GB being used on my Mac Studio, was difficult for me to understand and the software identified it correctly for me. For people who want help and not able to do it myself, it is a choice. Here is a link to a review by MacWorld.com. Click here: https://www.macworld.com/article/550084/maccleaner-pro-2-review.html
