Text Message - drop a PIN is no longer an option, why?

Under the contact name, clicking on Share My Location I no longer can drop a PIN. I only have options as follows:

for 1 hour

until end of day

Indefinitely

I just want someone to be able to get to my current location, I don't want to continue sharing, just the drop.

Any ideas?

Unable to stop sharing location. I wish to stop sharing location with a specific contact on “find my” I am well aware of how to do it. With any other contacts I am sharing location with I simply tap the red “stop sharing my location” and it stops and becomes blue “share my location” however, with this one contact it will not stop sharing. Sometimes it flicks to the blue writing but then immediately flicks back to the red “stop sharing your location” I had this contact blocked and tried unblocking them but thy did not work. It is likely they have also blocked me but this is a serious problem! I need to be able to stop sharing my location with them and know it has worked!! Again… it works perfectly with anyone else I have shared location with. This needs sorting immediately

Sharing location & would like to continue to do so. Why does it keep asking me “if I want to continue sharing location “ when I try to delete a text? NO, I DON'T WANT TO STOP just because I don't want to keep every text. Someone asked this very same question in 2020 - the response given was: "Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that when you try to delete a text message you're prompted to verify if you'd like to continue sharing your location. It sounds like location sharing may have been enabled for the contact or contacts that you're attempting to erase messages from. Take a look below for how to check if you're sharing your location and how to stop." THAT IS THE QUESTION - BUT THE RESPONDER MISSED THE POINT. I DO NOT WANT TO STOP SHARING MY LOCATION WITH THE INDIVIDUAL & the constant need to click something else making it likely that you WILL in fact stop sharing your location is frustrating.
