I cannot turn subtitles off on Apple TV as settings don’t seem to work

I can’t turn off the Hindi subtitles which occupy half the screen of my TV whilst I’m trying to watch Oppenheimer in English!!! What’s going on with Apple TV? The settings don’t work for subtitles or language for the subtitles…

Automatic Subtitles Bug (Apple TV+) With Apple TV+ shows that are in more than one language (eg, Liason, Tehran), Apple TV cannot display subtitles automatically. Automatic subtitles doesn’t work. When actors speak English, you’re supposed to not see subtitles if you’ve set it to playback in English audio. When actors speak another language, English subtitles should appear. This works once, then it defaults to showing English subtitles all the time, even when the actors are speaking English!

Apple TV Subtitles problem I’m having an issue with subtitles watching shows on Apple TV. If I select subtitles as ‘Automatic’ they give me English subs during French speaking scenes, but also during English speaking scenes. I’ve tried selecting ‘English’ but this also keeps them on throughout too. Has anyone found a solution?
