Unable to install third party applications on my MacBook air

Hello, I am a new Mac user. I had some fun installing some apps that were in the App Store, but there was a few apps I wanted that were not available in the store, so I resorted to finding some apps from non trusted sources(in apples eyes). I figured out how to get past the Mac security protecting the computer, by using the get info interface, allowing me to bypass the malware blocker. now the apps(any of them from non trusted sources) start to install for all of 3 seconds before I get a pop up saying 7zip didn't install properly, but I'm not installing 7zip. I assume 7Zip is needed somehow for the installations, but can't get it to work.

I cannot find anything after days of googling, so I figured I'd ask here. hopefully someone has a answer!

The app you're referring to is compressed with the 7Zip format. There are several free apps available to unarchive this...although I've never had to use any of them in over 15 years. One I saw in the Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/unzip-rar-zip-7z-unarchiver/id1537056818?mt=12

There are others, too. I'd be leery of a different one I saw on the App Store from MacPaw, as this is the software vendor that hawks CleanMyMac, which several of us now refer to as BrickMyMac.
