Need to erase & reset iPhone 5 & 6s but have no phone service, no network connection no Wi-Fi

I need to reset an iPhone 5 & 6s. I transferred phones and plans ages ago. I have no phone plan, service or am able to get a network connection or wi-fi because of that. How do I reset and erase all content when this is the case. I have tried several things people advised on another post, but none of it works.

Need to Factory Reset & Erase All Content with no phone network or ability to connect to Wi-Fi. Please help

If the phones work go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content & settings.

You can also connect the phone via a USB cable to your computer and open it in iTunes, which has a reset button.

But why do they have no Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is totally independent of the cellular network.

Thanks. The iphones work great. They just have been used in years. The Erase all content & settings won't work.

I will try the iTunes thing. Thanks so much.

No, they have wi-fi but won't connect since no phone service.

They don’t need phone service to use Wi-Fi. All they need is a WiFi access point such as a home WiFi or even Starbucks.

and what is the problem with erase all content & settings? It doesn’t require any network.

I don't know That is what I thought But none of the phones will erase. Im going to try it again like you advised by connecting to my computer. Thanks for your help!
