How do I reinstall Microsoft Outlook on my Mac ??

I have Microsoft Outlook for Mac version 16.82 (2021).

I have thousands and thousands of emails saved in folders in “On My Computer” in Outlook.

I need to do a fresh reinstall of the Mac operating system (macOS / Mac OS X). All of the stuff in my Mac won't be there after the reinstall.

How can I reinstall Outlook so that all of my emails in the folders “On My Computer” are there? Essentially return Outlook to exactly as it was in my Mac before the reinstall.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Easiest thing to do would be to copy the folder all of your Microsoft data is in.

/Users/UserName/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office

Save the entire UBF8T346G9.Office folder to an external drive.

When you set up the new Mac, copy the saved folder back to the same location. Install Outlook and it will automatically pick up your email data since that's where it looks for that folder. Everything to do with your Outlook data is in that folder; contacts, all locally saved and linked emails.

if the mail accounts you use in outlook is of the modern type exchange or imap then all the mails are stored on the server and any client you add the mail account to will get all the mails from the server automatically

only if it's an older pop3 mail account type the mails will only be stored locally on your computer, in which case you will need to manually back it up

Thanks for the replies.

All of my emails are stored locally on my computer. They are not stored on a server, so downloading them from a server is not possible.

However exporting and importing them is fairly simple. When I do this, all of my emails stored locally on my computer are there. Thanks for directing me to that option!

I am using Legacy Outlook. However when I change to the new Outlook, I cannot export or import. I see the options for them under “File” but can't click on them.

Also in the new Outlook I cannot find the ribbon. I've tried many different things and looked online: don't see how to find or use the ribbon.
