How to download free apps without having to use your card

So everytime I try to download a free app it always ask for my payment info even tho it’s free and it won’t let download them how am able to still download free apps without going through that process everytime?

one needs a valid means of payment to use app store, it's always been like that

you can use an apple gift card if you wish
