Is liquid detected message don't appear again after I click Emergency Override?

The Liquid detection message appeared for 12 hours after I was on a boat ride. Then accidentally I clicked the Emergency override. After 30 minutes phone didn't show any liquid alert.

I want to know if the alert doesn't appear because I did the emergency override or if it dried itself.

Is the emergency override option permanent?

iPhone 15, iOS 17

It's unlikely the Emergency Override permanently disabled the liquid detection message on your iPhone 15. Here's what likely happened:

  • Drying: Since you were on a boat ride 12 hours before the message, it's possible your iPhone's Lightning connector dried out naturally during that time. This is the most likely scenario.
  • Temporary Override: Emergency Override is designed to bypass the liquid detection warning for a single charging session. It doesn't permanently disable the feature. If any liquid remains or re-enters the port, the message should reappear.
