Final Cut Pro not loading Canon CRM files

I have Final Cut Pro version 10.7.1 on MAC OS X Ventura version 13.6.5 on a 13 inch 2017 Macbook pro.

I have installed the Canon Raw plugin for Final Cut Pro version 2.6 and I can see it in the Library/Application Support/ProApps/Plugins/Vendor Specific folder.

Final Cut still does not recognise arm files either from my Canon EOS R3 connected, or the memory card from that camera. and I cannot import the files.

I have removed Final Cut Pro, removed all the prefs for it and reinstalled with no change to the outcome

I have removed the canon software files and doc folder and reinstalled with no change

There are no updates for my Mac

I see that many people have had this issue, but I have not seen an outcome where the OP gets it working.
