I would like to establish if the Purchase Order spam email is dangerous on an iPhone. I clicked the "pdf" attachment by mistake but can't figure out if there has been any damage caused. I believe the spam email launches a trojan programme. I was looking for the "Task Manager" equivalent but can't find it on the iPhone. If anyone can help that would be great!

No damage has been done to your phone. Apps cannot be installed by an email. Katana-San is correct that it would only be a concern if you had jailbroken your phone. This is not something that can be done by accident and you would definitely know if you had done that. The only thing you need to be concerned about is providing personal information through a phishing attempt.
