No sound after iOS 15.8.2 update + camera broken

I have an Iphone 7+ and after the ios update, when i answer the phone (or call somebody) there is no sound, i cannot hear a thing, the other person is not hearing me.
in native camera app, i cannot take a picture because the shutter button is not working (the physical volume button also)

All other apps (FB, Insta, chats, Youtube) are working ok.

It all "resolves" for a while if I restart the phone.

I too have an iphone 7+ which I have been happily using with an apple docking B&W speaker unit for several years. Following this latest ios update (15.8.2) the dock is apparently no longer compatible with my phone (neither charging the phone or playing music/radio/podcasts). There is no bluetooth connection option.

Am I supposed to throw away a perfectly good speaker unit because I accepted the latest apple os upgrade or is there a fix to resolve this?
