Delivery and Read receipts principally depend upon the Mail server, regardless of the Mail client App.

By example, Microsoft Exchange can support receipts when used with an appropriate Mail client - such as Microsoft Outlook.

Most commercial mail services, often provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) are delivered over IMAP or POP3 - and do not support receipts.

Good afternoon.

This is a feature that Apple NEEDS to add along with Delivery Receipt requests to better assist customers who use or prefer to use Apple native products over third party software such as Microsoft Outlook.

I sincerely hope that feedback such as this makes its way to Apple.

To be absolutely clear, Mail Receipts are a function of the Mail Server. Whether or not the Mail Client supports receipts, if the Mail Server doesn't support this feature, the Mail Client will not provide this functionality.
