Apple Cash Setup Unavailable

My child never had a setup in Apple Cash and is part of Apple Damily. But when I follow the steps to enable it I get a message: “Cannot Setup Apple Cash” Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later.


However, I can use Apple Pay just

fine within moments of seeing this message.

Yes, but this did not help.


However, I solved the issue by removing him completely from my family group and added him back (after ensuring he had latest iOS) and was able to get him linked to Apple Pay.

Is the child 13 years old or more? Is his Apple ID set correctly?


Is his device updated to latest OS?


Is the child behind a VPN? If so, disconnect, delete all software and restart the device?


Are they logged into the same Apple ID that was invited to Apple Sharing/Cash Family?


Did you follow the instructions in the Apple Support article I linked below?


Update the birth date associated with your Apple ID - Apple Support


Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support


Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support
