Unable to add cards to Wallet for Apple Pay

I am new to apple, for some reason I cannot add a card to my Apple Pay. I have tried 2 different cards from different banks. It says cannot add card contact provider, which I have done who have said there are no issues with the bank/card. I am lost and it’s so annoying that I cannot use Apple Pay. Any ideas?

There are several possible reasons you might be experiencing issues. So let’s start with a few basic steps. I’ve added links to support articles that may offer solutions to issues you might encounter.

Are you in a country or region that supports Apple Pay?

It’s a bank and Payment Network issue. Tokens need to be removed from your card. Usually the Payment Network (Mastercard, Visa etc.) has to do it. However, some banks can remove tokens. Fraud alerts are another possible cause and involve both parties again.

You can isolate the issue by creating a new Apple ID, logging out of existing Apple ID and logging into new Apple ID. Try adding a card. If it adds to the Wallet, the issue is banks and/or payment network.
