logging out failed error on migration assistant

I am trying to migrate from my 2019 macbook air running Sonoma 14.2.1 to 2022 Macbook Air running Sonoma 14.2 but keep getting a "logging out failed" error on my old macbook air

I have been transferring mac to mac using migration assistant over wifi for over 3 days I have been transferring mac to mac using migration assistant over wifi. It has been running for 3 days [Re-Titled by Moderator]

following migration from windows my macbook pro won I used the migration assistant from my windows laptop onto MacBook with Ventura operating system. Once it finished transferring files it says there is an error starting the MacBook and I don’t get to the log in screen. Help!

I'd try booting your old Mac into Safe Mode, as that seems to clear up weird things (and does some drive maintenance as well). Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support

Let it sit in Safe Mode for about 5-10 minutes to give it time to do its thing.

Then reboot normally, and try again.
