Sonoma M3 Macbook Pro External Display stuck at 30 hz

Have an M3 macbook pro, just bought a new samsung UHD 32" 60Hz monitor, but with Sonoma apparently stuck at 30Hz

No resolution allows for more than 30 hz external display, I even have it connected to hdmi directly on the Macbook.

I assume this is an artificial software limitation set by apple? or what?

How can I get my new monitor to show 60Hz on M3 Macbook pro with Sonoma?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.4
