Regarding the Bose Soundtouch App, the iOS17.4 upgrade causes the App no longer to work. The App works on my iPads running iPadOS17.3.1

Regarding the Bose Soundtouch App on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iOS17.4 upgrade causes the App no longer to work. The App works perfectly on my iPads running iPadOS 17.3.1. The App has run perfectly on my iPhone for years.

Has anyone else had issues with iOS 17.4 and the Soundtouch App? Bose does not think the issue is on their end. Could there be something in iOS 17.4 that is causing the problem?

Recently I discovered by Bose Soundtouch App ( which I have been a daily user for years ) stopped picking up my speakers on my home network using my current iPhone 14+. Although, working just fine on my iPhone 11 , iPad mini and old BlackBerry. Initially, I made posts about it been as a result of recent iOS 17 updates BUT, after a couple weeks problem determination, re-installs, wipe, Bose and Apple support folks , I finally nailed my issue down to my Norton 360 “ web-safe” switch in their App. Shutting it off , everything visible and discovered and working in Soundtouch App again . Only have licences for 3 devices and the other devices where it wasn’t a problem aren’t running Norton . BTW, I opened a support ticket with Norton and explained the whole thing to them and they were ZERO help at all .

Apple doesn't own Bose, nor their App. If they didn't update their app to be compliant with iOS 17.4, that's on them to do. With app issues with 3rd party products, you should reach out to Bose for help. Apple has no ability to change anything in their app. But be assured, Apple did send the API (Application Protocol Interface) to Bose as they do all app developers for them to make whatever changes necessary for their app to work with a new upate.

Contact Bose.

I just spent the better part of a half hour in discussion with a tech-support human at Bose. I informed him that the desktop app, which is required to add an NAS Drive or computer library to a Bose SoundTouch device, yields the following when installed on an M2 Mac Mini: "uh-oh. Looks like the installer did not install the most recent version. Restart the app and try again". After a lot of dithering, he agreed that the software for SoundTouch devices has not been updated and will never be updated. If we want to access a local NAS drive or Apple Music library, we can buy new Bose hardware or go pound sand.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it should be obvious, since the iPhone app from Bose tells us to download the desktop app at "soundtouch.com", which has been NXDOMAIN for several years.
