Email deletion problem

Deleting Messages on iPad doesn't delete them on iPhone, since I upgraded my iPad to IPad Pro 11 inch 4th generation. I checked the iCloud, Messages and Forwarding Settings and they are all as they should be, but a message or conversation does not get deleted on the iPhone from the iPad. I have turned them both off and on and they both have latest update.

The message is deleted on my MacBook Pro, so it appears to sync properly there.

If I delete a message from my iPhone SE, it is deleted on iPad and MacBook.

All synced perfectly on any other iPads or phones that I had. Any ideas.

i noticed that this question was asked by Kristen S in January 2023, none of the fixes worked.

Thanks for the help,

iPad Pro, iPadOS 17

Are you experiencing difficulties with Messages - or with email?

Messages

You have perhaps already verified this, but double-check that you have enabled iCloud Messages on each device:

Settings > [Your Name / AppleID] > iCloud > [Apps Using iCloud] Show All > Messages > Messages in iCloud - set to ON

Depending upon the version of iOS/iPadOS, the path to the setting may differ slightly.

If settings are as expected, try setting to OFF - then close the settings App and restart the device. After restart, reset the setting to ON

Email

Deleting and re-adding your email account is sometimes the easiest way to resolve a problem with a specific Mail account. After deleting the account, perform a forced restart before re-adding the email account to your iPad.

  • Delete account:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your Mail Account] > Delete Account

  • Force restart the iPad:

Force restart iPad - Apple Support

  • Add Mail Account:

Settings > Mail > Add Account
