Does anyone know if there’s a way to retrieve permanently deleted messages from an iPhone? The phone carrier said they don’t for security reasons. I’ve seen too many movies to know that’s not true. My ICloud storage doesn’t seem to have them. It’s been less than 40 days. Thank you

In messages app tap Edit and tap Show Recently Deleted
If they are not there they are gone for ever.
if you sync anything to iCloud then deleting from any device deletes from iCloud and everywhere else sync’d to iCloud. After 30 days permanent is permanent.
