MacBook hardware locked

I had recently bought a MacBook off of eBay and everything was fine until I tried to install windows that’s how I found out a business hardware locked my MacBook so I took it to Best Buy to get it fixed they said they couldn’t do im mad because I can’t get this out of my MacBook

if it has something to do with the inside or whatever I can just buy the thing effecting it and fix it myself i seriously don’t know what to do anymore

When you say "hardware locked", are you by any chance referring to Activation Lock?

That's an anti-theft measure from iPhones that subsequently appeared on Intel-based Macs with T2 security chips, and on Apple-Silicon-based Macs. If the Mac is Activation-Locked, and asking for the Apple ID and password of the owner, you will need to supply those things to get past the Activation Lock.

If you cannot supply those things, or if the Mac is enrolled in a organizational management scheme (e.g., because it belonged to a large corporation whose IT department liked to centrally manage things), you need to return the Mac to the seller, and ask them to either (a) properly prepare it for transfer to you, or (b) cancel the sale and refund your money.
