My iPhone 13’s battery health dropped by 6% within just 9 months

I had bought my iPhone exactly on 14th of July 2023 and exactly today on 16th march 2024 after 9 months it declined by 9% (with in last 1 month it dropped straight 94 from 98) despite using a 5 watt charging adapter and keeping it on charge overnight till 80% it’s a drastic decline. What’s the matter if anyone can tell!

iPhone 13, iOS 17

There is no "drastic decline." Declines in battery health of 1% a month are considered normal. It sounds as if you're phone is just fine.

There is absolutely no reason not to charge your phone overnight. In fact, it's best practice. If the phone is charging, connected to WiFi and the screen is locked, it will back up to iCloud automatically every night (assuming you turned that feature on). Enable Optimized Battery Charging.

No, it was on my experience. Just for you know, I also own standard iPhone 13 for working phone. I treat them both the same way, which is avoid overnight charging and anything else that stacks up heat on the iPhone, just basic chemistry. Both have the same results. I suggest the OP to do the same thing and the battery health won’t tank as fast for sure.

I disagree though that 13 Pro’s experience is entirely incomparable to standard 13. Both released in the same year and also work with the same chip (I turned off 120Hz display). I agree with the rest of following points

Incorrect advice.

I’m using 20W charger on 13 Pro and it only lost 1% for every 2 months.

Unless you have exactly the same model of phone, have all the same apps installed, have the same carrier and are using the phone exactly the same way in exactly the same places as the original poster, that comparison is specious.
