AppleTV Not playing subscriptions on Roku TV

I have a subscription for AppleTV+. All movies and TV shows play on my phone with no issues. When I try to watch a movie on my Roku TV it says I have to rent or buy it but it’s free on my phone. Why won’t it honor the subscription I am paying for on my Roku TV?

The Terminator movies
Lie To Me TV show

None of those are part of the Apple TV+ subscription catalog. They are available for buy or rent from the in-app Store. On iPhone (and iPad, Apple TV box), and they might also be part of the catalog of external app subscriptions that ‘connect’ to the Apple TV app, but that link does not apply on third party devices.

E.g. I think Lie To Me (2009) is also on Hulu, whose content may show in the TV app on iPhone. The Terminator (1984) is currently also on DirecTV Stream and AMC+, whose content may show in the TV app on iPhone. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) is currently also on Freeform and Paramount+, whose content may show in the TV app on iPhone. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) is currently not part of any subscription service in the US that I could find.

Purchased movies and TV shows (to buy, not subscription) in the Apple TV app would be available in the app on any of your devices that have the Apple TV app with Store and Library, including on Roku.

@Urquhart1244 Thank you. That was very helpful information. Do you know if there’s a way I can tell the difference on my phone? Meaning what apps movies/tv shows are coming from that appear to be available on my iPhone not really available for viewing via Apple TV+ subscription? Sometimes my phone will try to switch apps like Lie To Me would switch to my Hulu to view. However, on my phone, I could watch all 3 seasons, but on my Roku it only shows 1 season available. Thats why I thought the Apple TV subscription was allowing me to watch all the seasons. It gets a little confusing.
