My wife has a 2020 Apple Watch SE and Apple will honour a replacement and we are thinking of upgrading, should we or just take the new replacement and save money. Or what other model as she has a slew of watch bands.
I'm not sure Apple would give you credit instead of sending you a replacement but I can be wrong. If they offered you a credit, then there is no question they are willing to do it.
A series 9 would be perfectly compatible with all the watch bands she has, so would an Apple Watch SE 2nd generation.
Be careful though : a new Apple Watch will be using watchOS 10 which is only compatible with an iPhone using iOS 17.
