What steps to take before plugging a "Time Capsule" into a 2021 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.3.1?

Thank YOU for assistance! I want to retrieve iPhoto's or Photo's images and import to my MacBook.

I have two old Time Capsules; model A-1254 1TB and model A-1409 2TB.

On a personal note; I took care of my parents for 15 years and am hoping all the images are backed up to these Time Capsules.
