iPhone stolen, few question concerning the same.

I recently got pickpocketed and someone took both of my phones (iPhone plus & iPhone 13pro max). I have a few questions because I’m nervous they will have access to my information. Both phones were locked with a code just for mention.


  1. can they bypass the locked code?
  2. i have located the address they are at but police said they can’t help do I let them go?
  3. I have marked one as lost/stolen but the other I don’t remember my Apple ID to log into find my so I could not mark as stolen/lost are they able to get in it?
  4. how can I recover my Apple ID? I went through the steps just can’t remember when I get to the verification part because I have no idea (ex: r**@icloud.com)

  1. Glad that you had a passcode set on your iPhone. The thief can attempt to reset the passcode, however, that involves deleting all data from your iPhone first. If the thief succeeds in resetting the passcode, then the data will be deleted permanently. The thieves do not really care for your data. They just want the iPhone for obvious reasons.
  2. If the police cannot help you, then my recommendation is that you do not handle it yourself. Let it go. Report the phone as stolen to your carrier so that the carrier can blacklist it. This will prevent someone else form activating it for use.
  3. The only way they can get your iPhone to be in a useful status is by resetting the passcode and deleting all the data permanently that is on it. They will then have to activate the iPhone for use.
