Deleting email on IPhone and Ipad at the same time

As of a few weeks, ago, I am no longer able to delete emails from my ipad and iPhone at the same time. This happened a few years ago, and I somehow fixed it but now I am unable to do so. I even called Apple and spoke with 2 different people and they were unable to help. I read about POP vs IMAP (or whatever it is) but that was unable to find this info in settings. That could be outdated info. Could someone please help. Thx!

I figured it out! Under Mail - my “fetch” was on a different setting in my iPhone vs my ipad. I switched the Fetch to Automatically on both and now it works. Hopefully this can help someone in the future. Thank you for your help, Lawrence!

Go to Settings/Mail/Accounts. Tap on an account. It will say one of: iCloud, Exchange, gmail, yahoo, IMAP or POP. All of these except POP will sync across devices. If the account says POP, delete it, then add it back. Do this on each device.


Note that for your email to sync all devices must have an internet connection; syncing is between the device and the mail server, not device to device.
