Connect iPad 6 mini and 1.st Magic Keyboard, Trackpad and Mouse

Good afternoon. The iPad 6 mini does not see the 1st. Magic keyboard and 1st. Magic Trackpad. Is this how it should be? Or can they be connected?

The original Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, released around 2015, have user replaceable AAA batteries. These first generation devices were not designed for Mac - and are not supported by iPad.

The more recent Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad, featuring a Lightning connector to recharge built-in/internal rechargeable batteries are compatible with iPad.
