my husband passed away in Nov 2023, I was trying to log into is phone and got locked out but since I found his password. How do i log in now.

Enter the passcode (this is not the same as the password) for his phone. Even then that will not get you full control of his phone, though.

Unfortunately, you came here from the very article you need to follow to now erase the phone to get into it. Hopefully, your husband was backing up his phone before he passed away, and you'll be able to restore the backup if you want the data off the phone. If you don't want the data off the phone, the phone will be erased and ready to be set up again. You will need to know the Apple ID and Apple ID Password, which was used to set up the phone in the first place. Do you know that? If you don't, you won't even be able to erase it.
