Well the world has moved beyond Monterey to Ventura and now Sonoma, and the on-line blogs are writing for the latest operating systems.

Monterey 12.* and old use the traditional "System Preferences".

Ventura 13.* and newer use the iPhone/iPad "System Settings".

While "System Settings" is not exactly identical to iPhone/iPad, but many of the entries are the same.

Apple decided that since most of their Windows to Mac conversions were coming from users of the iPhone and iPad. And those users are more at home with a "System Settings".

Those that are used to "System Preferences" need to use the "System Settings" -> "Search" box to find things.

Conversely, if you have something that says "System Settings" and you are not prepared to upgrade to Ventura or Sonoma, they you should be using the "System Preferences" -> "Search" box to find where the item they are talking about is located under System Preferences.
