Question

iPad 10th Generation unable to sidecar with Macbook Air m2

Both are on the same apple ID

Both have Wi-Fi (on the same network) and Bluetooth enabled

Sidecar is enabled on Macbook Air m2

Everything is connected (even tried with official Apple cable)

I cannot get the Mac to recognize the iPad as a display from the dropdown menu.

The display that is available is my partners laptop, not my iPad.

I have checked and believe the two are compatible -- everything has been updated as well.

I am new to Apple so anything else I can try to get it so I can use the iPad as a second monitor?

So frustrating but it fixed itself after I logged out of my account on both and restarted ( I had tried this earlier but tried again a few hours later and it allowed it to work this time.) thank you for help!

Use iPad as a second display - Apple Support

Have you checked all of the requirements, including the additional requirements, in that Support article?

MacBook Air introduced in 2018 or later - yes
iPad (6th generation) or later - yes
Both devices must be signed in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication. Sidecar does not support Managed Apple IDs. - yes
To use Sidecar wirelessly, both devices must be within 10 meters (30 feet) of each other and have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Handoff turned on. Your iPad must not be sharing its cellular connection and your Mac must not be sharing its internet connection. - yes
To use Sidecar over USB, your iPad must be set to trust your Mac. - yes, connect with official cord and set to trust
Make sure your Mac is using the latest version of macOS. - yes

I meet all requirements, I am not sure why it won't work
