My phone no longer has internet service after this update.
My iPhone X was automatically updated last night to iOS 16.7.6. Now my internet isn't working. I've tried restarting already.

Can you make and receive phone calls? If you can then your cellular service is working.
The first thing to check is VPN - if you use VPN, or have a VPN profile installed even if you aren’t actively using it, go to Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, tap on the profile and delete it. This will then restart your phone.
If you cannot make or receive calls and you see SOS in the status bar: SOS means that your phone is working, but is not connected to your carrier’s network. It can only make emergency calls on other networks. You need to contact your carrier to resolve this. Here is guidance from Apple→If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad.
