How to remove a damaged iPhone 11 from my account

My IPhone 11 was damaged and the screen was crystallized. I am getting a new IPhone 15 from Apple customer service. They told me I had to go into my Apple account and shut off the old phone since the screen is destroyed. How do I do this?

I got a new phone in December and i was walking to my friends house to set it up i must of dropped it someones lifted it and stolen it so i never got to set i t up in my name i have apple care can i get a replacement im obly getting to it noe Can i get replacement i havnt paid it for the past 5 months because i had no idea how to go about it i had to get a new phone somewhere else

See the instructions in this support document. You will have to use a computer or other iOS device to log in and then remove the device from there. Remove a device from Find Devices on iCloud.com - Apple Support
