MacBook Pro M3 14" Connecting to two Samsung S60UA 27"

Has anyone connected 2 Samsung S60UA 27" monitors to a MacBook Pro M3 14" and daisy chained them together? I want to make sure this config works before I buy them. I expect to connect the first monitor via USB-C to the MacBook Pro M3, and then DP Out on the first monitor to DP In on the second monitor? The aim here is to get rid of my Dell Dock I currently connect 2 smaller DELL monitors and use the Samsung monitor as the dock.

Macs do not support DisplayPort MST daisy-chaining.

In addition, if that 14” MBP has the base M3 chip, it supports only one external display. (That may change to be one with the lid open, two with the lid closed - with a future software patch.)

I think this is the key point that is not clear on Monitor advertisements and what causes all the confusion, and was certainly my confusion at the start of this thread. Monitors advertise daisy chaining and being hubs but they are mostly MST technology and not Thunderbolt. Mac’s only do Thunderbolt daisy chaining and Apple are bad for not highlighting technologies they do not support, so never mention MST on their spec sheets or call out they don’t support it.

So it’s two cheap monitors and two cables connected to the Mac, or two cheap monitors connected to a moderate priced dock that supports Thunderbolt and one cable to the Mac, or two expensive monitors that support Thunderbolt connected together and one cable to the Mac.

Apple’s focus is on max bandwidth and max resolution at sacrifice of compatibility to ensure you always have the best experience…
