Any way to recover files from a water-damaged 2015 Macbook Air?

My Macbook Air got drenched and won't charge or turn on even after three days of drying it out. Evidently a circuit (or many) have shorted. There are a few files I haven't backed up and would really like to recover from the hard drive. I believe this model is no longer one with a removable drive I can plug into another machine (have done that in the past)… Can anyone confirm, and if that's definitely the case, any idea what my options are? Appreciate any help.

The SSD on a 2015 MBAir is removable, but it uses a proprietary Apple SSD connector (assuming it is the original Apple OEM SSD) so you will need to use an OWC Envoy Pro Enclosure to attempt to access the SSD. As long as the SSD connector does not show any corrosion or burn marks, then most likely the SSD will be Ok unless the liquid damaged affected the SSD circuitry on the Logic Board.

FYI, people should always have frequent and regular backups of their computer and all external media (including the cloud) which contains important & unique data. With the newer Macs, there are a lot more new ways to permanently lose access to data due to all the new hardware, software, and security changes.
