How do I remove my iCloud from my old iPhone?

I gave my youngest son my old iPhone because I bought a new iPhone I Transferred everything from my old phone to my new phone do.. but my old iCloud is still connected to my old phone!! Do I have to sign out of my old phone so my son can use the phone?
