Cannot edit or locate comments for YouTube on iPad IOS Safari even on mobile browser version

Hello,

I sometimes make mistakes and I like to go ahead and correct them when I make comments on YouTube. I pretty much live on my iPad and watch YouTube on my TV and make comments on videos. I’m watching on my TV using my iPad. I do not like the YouTube app. It is very limited on functionality, so my preference is to make the comments on my iPad on YouTube through my Safari browser.

That being said, I have always had the same problem that everybody else does where you can’t click on the three dots next to the comment and click on edit and either activate the edit mode for the comment or delete the comment. I know all about the trick of going into the URL bar (address bar), and clicking on the “AA” and selecting Mobile version. When doing that, there is no option to locate your comment that you want to edit. There is no option available to have it sorted instead of by top comment have it ordered or filtered by newest comment first, those options are completely missing. Additionally, missing is if you go into your library to try to search your history, there is no option to search your comment history. You only get the option to have it list out the videos that you’ve watched or show you your playlists nothing else. If you click on manage all history it just takes you into your Google history for everything that is taking you out of YouTube so that is not of any help either. Additionally, even if you had just made the comment and you go through all of the hoops, I just described your comment doesn’t show up when you go through those hoops and try to show the comments it just shows you the top comments that it wants to show you and good luck on scrolling through because you’ll be scrolling through for 10 years.

Does anybody have a thoroughly workable solution to deal with this? Using the Mobile browser version option I described above is the equivalent of using the YouTube app, and all of those same options I described above, are missing in the app again even in the app you cannot search for your comment history that option is not included . Does anybody have any suggestions? Has anybody tried using alternative browsers such as installing Microsoft edge or anything like that and if so, have you had any better success? I am updating this to indicate I just tried using the Microsoft edge browser and when you try to go to YouTube, it defaults to the mobile version and there’s no way that I know of to stop it from detecting. I am on an iPad and forcing me into the mobile version which has a web address of m.youtube.com, even if I type in the normal YouTube web address it automatically detects that I’m on an iPad and keeps going to that mobile version. So now I have the additional question of. How do I stop it from detecting that I am on an iPad or turn off the forcing me into the mobile version even through Microsoft edge browser? I just tried using the Google Chrome browser on my iPad and it does the same thing with forcing me into the Mobile version. I’m willing to bet it’s going to do the same thing for Firefox also. This is frustrating and annoying.

I appreciate all functional suggestions because there’s got to be a way to make this work the answer can’t be don’t use your iPad and drag your laptop in to your bedroom .

Final update on this before I leave it just for everybody to comment on it. I did try Firefox on iPad and it does not force you into the mobile version which is wonderful. The downside is there must be a delay in synchronization from when you use the normal Safari web version and leave comments and it getting through to all other variations of using YouTube such as the YouTube app or any other browser version on iPad. I say this because no matter whether I used Microsoft edge or Google Chrome or Firefox or the YouTube app even though I did make my comment and I found that I had typos when I did it on the normal mobile web safari version for YouTube and I tried to look in those other methods. My comments is not showing up. Now it could be because they don’t allow you on any of those other versions to sort by newest comment but I don’t think that’s the case because even when I was able to pull up Firefox and use the normal web version which gives you a method to look at your comment history for YouTube. I have older comments from earlier in the evening as in a few hours prior to this comment where I had the typos I wanted to correct but the comment I had just made with the typos, was not even in my comment history list at all.
