Removing HIGHLIGHT in PDF file can not be saved

This problem occurs when I read PDF file and take notes with Files in iPadOS. I have tried many times to remove the added HIGHLIGHT and save, but it’s always there when I open the file again.

iPadOS version 17.2

Preview annotations disappearing Is there a reason my notes from annotated pdf files disappear when I reopen the pdf on the preview app? Right now I use a 3rd party pdf reader app to avoid this very issue at the moment, but I'd prefer Preview to that if this issue can be fixed. Is there something I can do to fix this?

Notes and highlights disappearing from the Books app I'm using books to read PDFs, highlight texts and make notes. Then, after making dozens of notes on marked texts, all the notes disappear like they were never there. Sometimes even the highlight marks disappear. Extremely frustrating to loose all the work and ideas!!! I never experienced such a bugged out system as the Apple's latest iOS. Anyone having similar experiences and how to make sure that Apple fixes this?

Markup not saving on files My annotations on my files does not save sometimes in my file app ipad. I saved my files in on my ipad, and sometimes it happens. Very upsetting if it contained alot of notes inside
